Direction & Featured Work

I am a Filipino-Australian creative producer, director, designer, animator, illustrator, writer and creator.

I’ve created films about basketball, being tall, and falling in love; and have brought to life powerful poetic odes to a migrant mother’s Puerto Rican accent. National Geographic once gave me a chance to animate lullabies from around the world. And during my ad agency days I got to help gamify fitness with a colourful character called Fuelie.

I’ve been lucky to have collected a few shiny things along the way. My directorial and producing work has been shortlisted for the Academy Awards, won a Cristal at Annecy Festival, nominated for an AACTA, featured on Motionographer, and won at Tribeca Film Festival. These experiences have shaped my love for the craft of animation and storytelling, and the lovely people I have met at these festivals propel me on my journey today. In 2013 I founded KAPWA an animation and design practice. Recently I’ve also been working as a commercial director represented by Nexus Studios.

I find joy in spreading myself thin trying to conceive new crackpot creative schemes, meddling with new tech, and looking for inspiration in my roots. I love walking the line between the human, and the high tech; and looking for the edge between the comfortable and the challenging.
